The data on involvement of lysosome enzyme systems have been summarised, specifically on the participation of lysosome proteinase in the cell nutrition, immunogenesis, and development of atherosclerotic lesions of vascular walls. The evidence is presented on the involvement of thiol proteinase tissue inhibitors in the regulation of B, H, and L cathepsins activity in protein deficiency, and on the participation of the lysosomal apparatus of intimal cells in the atherogenesis at the level of heterophagocytosis regulation.
