Rhodamine B oxidative assay of hydroxyl radical produced by Fenton reaction

A new method was proposed for the determination of hydroxyl radical produced by Fenton reaction. After being oxidized by hydroxyl radical, Rhodamine B showed a color change. The ΔA_(550) was dependent on the dosage of Rhodamine B, Fe~(2+) or H_2O_2, respectively. The optimal experimental condition was studied. This system used as a convenient method for the selection of antioxidants.
