Objective To study the effect of foreseeing nursing on the thrombolytic thrombosis incidence of and complication after peripherally inserted central catheter( PICC) for malignant tumor patients. Methods 145 malignant tumor patients with PICC catheter were selected hospitalized from January 2012 to September 2013,and according to the nursing methods were divided into the control group( 64 cases) and the observation group( 81 cases). The control group received conventional care, and the observation group foreseeing nursing. The thrombosis incidence and complications were observed. Results The thrombosis rate of the observation group was 9. 9%( 8 /81),lower than 29. 7%( 19 /64) of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant( P 0. 05). The phlebitis, catheter obstruction and infection of the observation group were 14. 8%( 12 /81),11. 1%( 9 /81) and 12. 3%( 10 /81),lower than those of the control group 35. 9%( 23 /64),26. 6%( 17 /64) and 29. 7%( 19 /64) respectively, and the difference was statistically significant( P 0. 05); There was no significant difference in the oozing of blood between the two groups( P 0. 05). Conclusion The foreseeable nursing can reduce catheter thrombosis incidence for patients with malignant tumor and PICC,and reduce the complications. It is worth promoting in clinical practice.
