Study on Solid-Phase Grafting of Maleic Anhydride onto Polypropylene

Solid-phase grafting method was used to graft maleic anhydride onto polypropylene particle whose diameter was 2.7 mm.The effects of conditions during these reactions were studied.The grafted polypropylene was analyzed by chemical analysis method,infrared spectrum,and torque balance.The experiment results showed that maleic anhydride were successfully grafted onto polypropylene by solid-phase grafting method,and the maximum graft degree arrived at 2.2%.The torque balance of the grafted polypropylene was obviously higher than that of neat polypropylene,but the graft degree didn′t affect the torque balance apparently.
