摘要
This chapter examines the notion of climate change and regional folklore as featured in Barbara Kingsolver's Flight Behavior. It notes the interplay between folklore and bioregionalism in an effort to address climate change. Kingsolver's novel showcases the potential implications of bioregional folklore and its merit for tracking potential folkloric disruption resulting from anthropogenic climate change. In Flight Behavior, Kingsolver addresses the impact of anthropogenic climate change on the folklore of the novel's rural Tennessee community. The chapter also explains that the novel highlights the group dynamics at play around the climate-change debate and how folklore and bioregional literary criticism can complement each other.
