Construction activity has many work related health accidents and injuries, which cost the organization financially and non-financially. Safety management practices play the significant role to overcome such safety problems. This study aims to examine the influence of safety management practices on safety compliance in construction sites. The study was done through the questionnaire surveys with 97 respondents from construction sites in Surabaya (East Java), Indonesia. The conceptual model was analyzed using the partial least square structural equations modelling (PLS-SEM). The study findings have important suggestions to management regarding workplace safety practices. Safety motivation plays a role of competitive mediation as well as partial mediation in this study. Further, implementing health and safety practices improve accidents in construction sites to some extent.
