Effect of fibroblast growth factor on fibroblasts of scars

Objective To explore the effects of fibroblast growth factor (FGF) on the biological behaviors of fibroblasts in scars,and the action mechanism of FGF on formation and proliferation of scars.Methods In 28 scars and normal skins,the fibroblasts were cultured in vitro.The results were observed and analyzed under the inverted microscopy.MTT assay and flow cytometry were used to observe the effects of FGF on the biological behaviors of fibroblast in scars.Results In thein vitro study,the results showed that proliferation of fibrohlasts was inereased significantly after treatment with FGF as compared with control group.Conclusion FGF can increase proliferation of fibroblasts.These results demonstrate that FGF is beneficial for wound healing at early stage.
