Rhodium(I)-Catalyzed Asymmetric Desymmetrization by Retro-Allylation

Significance A rhodium-catalyzed desymmetrization of meso -norbornenols is described, generating cyclic compounds in high yield and enantio­selectivity. Judicious choice of substrate and reaction conditions allows the formation of different products, making this a highly flexible catalytic system.
