NMR structural investigation of cellobiose and glucose

Abstract T 1 ( 13 C) NMR measurements on cellobiose and glucose in aqueous solutions at pH 5 at 276° and 296° K suggest that cellobiose molecules assume a nearly spherical shape in solution. NOE‐2D HETCOR and HOMCOR proton spectra of cellobiose confirm that cellobiose assumes a folded structure in aqueous solutions.
