796 The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of two forms of Cr supplementation on body composition, strength, and muscle endurance. Thirty-five males (age = 19-26 yrs) with at least two years of strength training experience were tested on three occasions [pre-test (T-1), after 3 wks (T-2), and after 6 wks (T-3)] for 1-RM bench press, 1-RM leg press, repetitions-to-fatigue on a seated preacher bar curl, and body composition(via skinfolds). Subjects were divided into matched groups based on strength: Cr monohydrate (CrM, n = 11), Cr phosphate (CrP, n = 9), and placebo (PL, n = 14). Supplemented subjects followed a loading dosage (5 g 4X/day for 3 days) with maintenance dosage (5 g 2X/day) for remainder of the study. At T-3, both the CrM and CrP groups made significant increases in 1-RM bench press and LBM compared to the PL group, although the supplemented groups did not differ.
