The mobile application framework: making mobile links usable

Many mobile communication networks have become operational in recent gears. Unfortunately most are characterised by high connection costs, low bandwidth and high transmission delay. We consider these deficiencies: the problems today's users face are of a practical nature and equally practical, 'down-to-earth' solutions are required. We then describe the mobile applications framework, a generic system for mobile computing which allows the efficient use of mobile data connections.
