Bennettiella nom. nov. (olim Bennettia sensu Gibson, 1981) and Colemaniella nom. nov. (olim Colemania sensu Gibson, 1981) (Heteronemertea: Lineidae)

For two of the new lineid heteronemertean genera established by Gibson (1981) pre-occupied names were employed and, according to Article 34 of the Rules of Zoological Nomenclature, “A generic name is to be rejected as a homonym when it has previously been used for some other genus of animals” (Schenk & McMasters, 1956: 42). Accordingly the name Bennettia Gibson, 1981 (Nemertea) must be rejected as ;I homonym of Rennettia Fowler, 1904 (Pisces), and Colemania Gibson, 1981 (Nemertea) must likewise be invalidated as a homonym of Colemania Bolivar, 1910 (Insecta: Orthopters). It is proposed that the two nemertean genera be renamed Bennettiella nom. nov. and Colemaniella nom. nov., respectively.
