Research progress of cornea contact lens material

The research progress and capability of cornea contact lens material were reviewed.Contact lens material was mainly divided into two parts: rigid lens and soft lens.Polymethyl methacrylate was the first contact lens material,in order to keep cornea healthy,rigid gas permeable contact lens was developed subsequently.To improve the comfort of wearing,hydrogel soft contact lens was researched widely.And the main materials were 2-hydroxyethyl methacrtlate,polyvinylpyrrolidone,poly vinyl alcohol and so on.To increase oxygen permeability and other performance,high oxygen permeability soft contact lens became the hotspot of this field,which mainly included organic silicon,fluorine macromolecule hydrogels and biomaterials.
