Study on the Generation Characteristics of Industrial Hazardous Wastes in China

Industrial production is the main source of hazardous wastes,and therefore management of industrial hazardous wastes is considered as an important aspect of solid waste management in the world.According to environmental statistical data in past years in China,the authors comprehensively analyze the generating status and characteristics of industrial hazardous wastes in China,such as the generated quantities,utilized quantities and disposed quantities of industrial hazardous wastes,industrial and area distributing characteristics of industrial hazardous wastes,the relation between industrial hazardous waste and industrial solid waste,the relation between industrial hazardous waste and industrial output value,and the development trend of industrial hazardous waste,etc.It is emphasized that the environmental departments of governments should attach importance to management on hazardous wastes not only from traditional industries such as petroleum industry,chemical industry and metallurgical industry,but also from high-tech industries and from resource-generating provinces in western China.
