Mathematical Model and Technology of Decarburization in RH-MFB Refining Process

In order to study the effect of RH-MFB refining technology on decarburization process,the overall decarburization mechanism can be divided into decarburization in bulk molten steel and floating of CO against static pressure,and decarburization on the surface of argon bubbles and splashed liquid drops.Based on each conception,the RH-MFB decarburization mathematical model has been built according to dynamics of decarburization reaction and mass conservation principle.The result indicates that terminal carbon concentration will decrease with decreasing the initial carbon concentration or increasing the initial oxygen concentration;the rate of decarburization will become higher with increasing the pressure decreasing rate,Ar gas flux and inside diameter of infusing tubes,the terminal carbon concentration will be decreased but the oxygen concentration will be increased when the time of flowing oxygen gas increases.
