Objective To investigate the perioperative treatment for hip fracture in elderly patients. Methods Clinical data of 96 elderly patients with hip fracture were analyzed retrospectively from January 2004 to January 2009. Results The percentage of cases with concomitant diseases was 81.25% (78/96).All patients passed the perioperative period safely.Postoperation complications occurred in 20 cases, with an incidence rate of 20.83% The good and excellent operation rate of patients without concomitant diseases was significant higher than that of patients with concomitant diseases (94.44% vs 84.61%, P0.05). Conclusion Most elderly patients have different concomitant diseases.By applying proper perioperative management according to the conditions of the patient, through preoperation and postoperative complications of hip fracture in elders, decrease in the incidence of perioperative complications and increase in qualified surgical outcomes can be obtained.
