The Experiences in Clinical Application of Immunoadsorption

Objective To assess the effects on protein A immunoadsorption and LDL-immunoapheresis. Methods Seven patients with autoimmune disease and 3 hepercholesterolemic patients underwent a total of 16 immunoadsorption procedures with Citem 10 System. Results Comparing with the profile of pre-and post-immunoadsorption,the plasma IgG,IgA,IgM levels were decreased significantly(P0.001), and plasma LDL,Lp(a), triglyceride and cholesterol levels were lowered by 70.9%,53.3%,19.7%,53.0%,respectively, but HDL level was increased by 51.3%. Conclusion Protein A immunoadsorption and LDL-immuno apheresis appear to be a selective, effective and specific approach for lowering IgG or LDL without significant side effects.
