Experimental study on the protective effect of tetrandrine on cyclosprine A nephrotoxity in rats

The present experimental study investigates the effect of tetrandrine,a calcium antagonist extracted from the Chinese medicinal herb,on cyclosporine A nephrotoxity(CsA-NT)in Seven days later,in coadministered tetrandrine with CsA groups,the values of the parameters mentioned above,as well as histological damage,were significantly improved.It was indicated that tetrandrine could functionally and structurally prevent acute CsA-NT in rats.
