The Doppler effect of the radio channel is mainly presented in this paper. This is the first result on the Doppler effect in a high-speed railway (HSR) scenario under long-term evolution for railway (LTE-R) testing network whose center frequency is 465 MHz and bandwidth is 5 MHz. Detailed descriptions of the measurement environment and system are introduced. The Doppler spectrum is shown. Characteristics of Doppler, e.g., Doppler shift, root mean square Doppler spread, coherence time are discussed. This practical and novel research can be used for channel modeling, evaluating and significantly promoting the LTE-R network performance.
