摘要
The wireless satellite communication system is regarded as the most promising novel communication approach that would realize sky-ground-sea area coverage. Satellite constellation design is the most important phase before practically deploying the satellite over the earth. It would determine the satellite number and orbit-related parameters. The purpose of this paper is to study the 5G low-orbit satellite constellation design. At present, some advanced research contributions are proposed, which provide great theory and experience to deeply explore and improve satellite constellation structure. The great achievements includes Walker, Flower, LEO, and VLEO, etc. Moreover, this paper visualizes some important phases while designing the constellation, based on STK. To be detail, motivated by the Starlink constellation deployments, this paper explores the orbital parameters characteristics, the detail constellation architecture, the communication coverage performance under different distribution of satellite and corresponding orbits, and the integrated constellation design solution.
