Preliminary Study on Ferromanganese Nodule in Xinpu District of Guanlin, Guizhou

This paper briefly deals with geological setting and macro_characteristic of Mn_bearing sediments and occurrence of ferromanganese nodule at the lower part in Wayaobao formation of upper Triassic in Xinpu district of Guanlin county of Guizhou, comparatively gives full details of its geochemical characteristic. It is su_gested that this kind of ferromanganese nodule differs from manganese nodule or ferromanganese nodule crust deposited in modern ocean. As ferromanganese nodule of compound origin contains Mn and Fe in medium scale, Mn:Fe1, rich LREE and poor multi_metals, it would be a Fe_Mn sediments of lower thermal water origin that forms in the late weather eluviation.
