Treatment of Advanced Pancreatic Cancer with Combination of Gemcitabine and Oxaliplatin

Objective To evaluate the efficacy and safety of gemcitabine and oxaliplatin in the patients with advanced pancreatic cancer.Methods Twenty-one patients were enrolled.The treatment consisted of gemcitabine 1000 mg/m~2(30 minute infusion)on day 1 and 8 and oxaliplatin 130 mg/m~2(2 hour infusion)on day 1 every 3~4 weeks.Results Sixteen patients were evaluable.Complete response was observed in 0 patient.Partial responses were observed in 2 patients,stable disease in 8 and progress disease in 6.The overall response was 12.5%.The Treatment was well tolerated.Conclusion Gemcitabine and oxaliplatin showed encouraging activity in the patients with advanced pancreatic cancer.
