The optical properties of α,α'-bisbenzylidene acetone submicrorings fabricated by reprecipitation

α,α'-bisbenzylidene acetone submicrorings were successfully prepared by using the reprecipitation method.The phenomena of experimentation indicated that the submicrorings were obtained from the rolling followed by seaming of a preorganized two-dimensional strip-like structure,whose formation was due to the assembly of α,α'-bisbenzylidene acetone molecules.The optical properties of the α,α'-bisbenzylidene acetone submicrorings dispersion in water were evidently different from the α,α'-bisbenzylidene acetone ethanol solution,which is related to the aggregate of α,α'-bisbenzylidene acetone molecules in water.
