Objective To analyze the relationship between multiple human papillomavirus (HPV) infections and cervical dysplasia. Methods The cervical samples of 591 women were obtained from August 2004 to August 2006 in Haifeng County and differentiated for HPV subtypes. Results The HPV infection rate was 44.6%. There double infections of HPV 52/58 and HPV 16/18 were common. The multiple infection rates were increased along with the severity of cervical dysplasia (except for caner), and are significant higher than the normal group (P0.01). Conclusion Multiple HPV infection is associated with the development of cervical neoplasia.
