HPLC characteristic spectrum analysis of saponins in astragali radix

Objective:To establish the method of characteristic speetrum on astragali radix for saponins by HPLC.Methods:AstragalosideⅠ,Ⅱcould be transformed to astragaloside Ⅳ by Alkaline treatment.and astragalosideⅠ,Ⅱ,Ⅲ,Ⅳ were proved to be characteristic components of astragali radix.Results:The four saponins could be detected respectively.Conclution:This is a simple method which can be used to control the quality of astragali radix.
