Research Progress of Epha2 in Tumor Invasion and Metastasis

Eph(erythropoietin-producing human hepatocellular)belongs to one of the largest subfamily of receptor tyrosine kinase family(RTKs).EphA2(Eph tyrosine kinase A2),an acceptor of Eph,is widely expressed in a variety of sources of human epithelial tissues or cell lines and plays a potential role in regulating cell growth,migration and angiopoiesis.The over-expression of EphA2 can lead to malignant transformation of cells and promote tumor invasion and metastasis.The over-expression of EphA2 can be used as an indicator for assessing the extent of tumor and predicting prognosis of patients,and may be expected to become a new target for cancer therapy.
