Time-dependent Effect of Tension Stiffening on Cracks of RC Structures

The relevant experimental work regarding the time-dependent decay of tension stiffening and its factors is rare. Therefore, a set of experimental works has been undertaken by the author to characterize the long-term mechanisms of tension stiffening variation. Uniaxial tension tests were preferred due to its practical simplicity in order to find out the distribution of concrete and steel tensile forces between two cracks. Companion concrete time -effect tests (creep and shrinkage) were also completed concurrently with the major tests.
