Augmented Reality has become a familiar technology in our life and we could find a lot of applications using this technology. But improving immersive and realistic feelings of augmented reality is still at its infancy. There are some methods to provide such feelings using multi-modal interface, interactions between virtual objects and real objects, etc. in an AR environment. However, interactions between glossy and other objects have hardly been considered so far. In this paper, we introduce an algorithm to detect smooth and glossy surfaces using a single webcam in an augmented reality application. Then we generate reflected images of virtual objects on these surfaces like a real reflected image of objects on real smooth and glossy surfaces. For this purpose, a new algorithm is proposed which can detect a smooth and glossy surface and generate the reflection of an augmented object. Several examples are provided to demonstrate our proposed algorithm.
