摘要
In today's fast-paced digital age, a shift towards modularization is evident across various domains, favoring smaller, more efficient components over overarching concepts and macrostructures. This trend is pronounced in e-learning, where traditional approaches have transformed into micro-learning to enhance learning effectiveness, addressing challenges such as high dropout rates and content mismatch in conventional methodologies. Micro-learning has emerged without established rules to guide the learning process. This absence underscores the necessity for a comprehensive analysis of existing frameworks and models in the literature. Emphasizing theories underpinning these frameworks becomes imperative to glean insights and identify metrics crucial for the development of well-structured micro-courses. This investigation undertakes an engaging exploration, delving into a review of 56 peer-reviewed articles published between 2019 and 2023, to reveal the hidden aspects driving the success of micro-learning methodologies across various formal educational settings. Through a systematic dissection of these micro-learning frameworks, coupled with an intricate examination of micro-course design principles, the study uncovers a rich tapestry of strategies empowering both learners and teachers alike. However, amidst acknowledging successes, the analysis bravely addresses the inherent limitations. Underscoring the critical importance of thoughtful design in creating effective learning environments that meet the diverse needs of technology-driven learners.
