摘要
Herein, we perform detailed analysis of the photoluminescence emission spectra, first to identify the stark splitting lines and later to use the luminescence intensity ratio between different Stark split levels of 1D2 →3H4 f–f transitions of Pr3+ in CaTiO3 perovskite host for an interesting application of luminescence thermometry. The measurements were performed in the temperature range 10–295 K to understand the luminescence output by measuring high resolution data first using 300 grooves/mm and later using 1200 grooves/mm gratings. The relative sensitivity obtained from the luminescence intensity ratio method shows values ranging between 0.08 and 0.82%·K–1 at a temperature of 120 K. The relative sensitivity between 1D2(0) →3H4(0) works best for the present case. The excellent repeatability with minimum uncertainty suggests that there is a definite possibility of using Stark lines for temperature evaluation, and much more effort is required in this direction to establish the procedure for practical use.
