Imprinting of Coordination Geometry in Ultrathin Films via the Surface Sol–Gel Process

Abstract Imprinting of Cu2+ and Zn2+ ions was performed in ultrathin TiO2 films by the surface sol–gel process. The imprinted films showed stable and selective binding to template ions over the control metal ion. The selectivity is attributed to the immobilized geometry of ethylenediamine ligand.
