Glycosyltransferase supergene family

Glycosyltransferases are responsible for glycosylation through transfering glycosyl from activated sugars to acceptor molecules and creating a glycosidic bond.There are many kinds of glycosyltransferases in vivo,which has formed a supergene family.The indentification,classification and evolution of glycosyltransferases were discussed in this paper,and their evolution in higher plants were also put forward here.
