Clinical Study on "Shugan Decoction" in Treating Diarrhea-Predominant Irritable Bowel Syndrome of Liver-Spleen Disharmony

To study the clinical effects of Shugan in the treatment of diarrhea-predominant irritable bowel syndrome (D-IBS) of liver-spleen disharmony, 60 subjects were divided into two groups: treatment group in which 30 cases were treated by Shugan Decoction' and control group in which 30 cases were treated by Dicetel, with a course of two weeks; and the curative effects for single and comprehensive symptoms were observed. Results: The curative effects of Shugan were similar to those of Dicetel; but the Decoction was more effective than Dicetel in improving some symptoms.
