The investigation of natural enemies of Dendroctonus valens in Shaanxi

The natural enemies of Dendroctonus valens LeConte in Shaanxi Province were investigated and the results revealed that are 5 species of pathogenic bacteria species including Beauveria bassiana, Acremonium sp.,Cephalosporium sp., Ovulariopsis sp., Trichoderma sp., Penicillium sp. and Rhizopus sp. which B. bassiana and A. sp. demonstrated a more effective control to adults and larva. There are several predators such as Agulla xiyue, Camponotus japionicus, Formica sinensis, Thanasimus formicarius, Platysoma attenuate with some degree of effectiveness in regulating D. valens. There are 2 parasitism species including parasitical flies and braconid wasps.
