Perfluorosulfonic acid proton exchange membranes such as Nafion membrane were used widely as elecˉtrolyte in fuel cell by researchers,because it has excellent performance.This paper set out from the structure of Nafion membrane relating to its performance,analyzing water uptakes,molecular structure,microstructure of membrane and acidity effect on proton conductivity.The Nafion membrane need to overcome the problems of poor proton conductivity at high temperature and high methanol permeability were indicated.Direction of develˉopment on proton exchange membranes were pointed out,including modification of Nafion,organic-inorganic proton conducting polymer electrolyte.
