Determination of Ferulic Acid and Paeoniflorin in Dangguishaoyao San by RP-HPLC

AIM: To establish a RP-HPLC method for the determination of paeoniflorin and ferulic acid in Dangguishaoyao San. METHOD:The HPLC separation was performed on a Lichrospher-C 18 column (4.6 mm×250 mm,5 μm),with the mobile phase of methanol-0.5% acetic acid solution(20∶80,v/v) at the detection wavelength of 230 nm. RESULT:The linear ranged from 24.64 to 246.4 μg/ml for paeoniflorin (r=0.9991) and,5.46～54.6 μg/ml for ferulic acid (r=0.9993).The recoveries of paeoniflorin and ferulic acid were more than 97.90% and 99.04% respectively,and RSD was less than 1.8%.CONCLUSION:The established method is simple,and accurate. It can be applied to determine paeoniflorin and ferulic acid in Dangguishaoyao San.
