Catalytic Reduction of p-Nitrobenzoic Acid by Silver Nanoparticles

Catalytic reduction of p-nitrobenzoic acid was investigated on silver nanoparticles.The reduction process of p-nitrobenzoic acid can be greatly accelerated in the presence of nanosized silver metal at room temperature.The silver nanoparticles may function as the electron mediator to transfer the electrons from borohydride to p-nitrobenzoic acid.
