Homogeneous electrochemical water oxidation catalyzed by a facilely prepared Cu-tris(hydroxymethyl)aminomethane complex

A facilely prepared Cu-Tris complex is developed as electrochemical water oxidation catalyst (WOC) with low onset overpotential and high turnover frequency. This work highlights the usage of inexpensive ligand to construct efficient WOCs.
