摘要
Recent trends in research and development focus more on the application of polymers to address corrosion problems in petroleum refineries and chemical industries. CPs are widely used as corrosion mitigators due to their conducting nature, resistance to corrosive environments, excellent stability, and thermal properties. Among all CPs, PANi has the promising capability to enhance the service life of industrial structures as a corrosion inhibitor in the corrosive media and as an additive in the organic coating. Various CP-based composites for anti-corrosion applications are critically reviewed in the present article. The present review article focuses on the corrosion inhibition mechanism of CPs and CP-based coating formulations in addition to recent advances in CP-based coatings.
