Lithium Redox in Imidazolium Ionic Liquids Composed of Five-Membered Cyclic Amide

A Lithium metal deposition and stripping peak could be observed in 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium (=[C1C2im]+) ionic liquids containing five-membered cyclic amide (4,4,5,5-tetrafluoro-[1,3,2]dithiazolidin-2-ide 1,1,3,3-tetraoxide). The theoretically estimated interaction energy between a Li+ and an anion and the adsorption energy of [C1C2im]+-based IL on Li(100) and the results of EQCM measurements were carried out to compare among the cyclic amide and the other typical amide anions, such as bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)amide and bis(fluorosulfonyl)amide.
