Plan de cuidados de enfermería para la prevención y tratamiento de las úlceras por presión

Pressure ulcer prevention (PUP) is an important care in nursing. Nowadays these professionals have the nursing process as a methodological tool for their praxis. Objective: to design a standardized nursing care plan that can be used as a guide for the nursing professional in the prevention and care of PUP?s. Method: Descriptive, prospective and cross sectional study. An instrument was designed using as an evaluation reference the model of Health Functional Patterns by Marjory Gordon, adapting it to dicotomic type adult hospitalized patients of 60 or more years of age. Descriptive statistics whit frequencies, percentages and central tendency measures was used. Results: 15 diagnoses related to PUP were identified; from which 11 were part of the prevention care plan to prevent pressure ulcer and 4 for the treatment procedure. For the design of care plans once diagnosis priorization was performed expected results referred in the Nursing Outcomes Classification were selected, followed by the selection of interventions included in the Nursing Interventions Classification more adequate for prevention and treatment. Conclusions: The use of standardized nursing care plans and the use of NANDA, NOC, and NIC taxonomies are tools which allow safe and affective nursing care, contributing to orient and ensure daily care for the prevention and treatment of the PUP.
