Preparation and Application in Leather Finishing of Oxidized Polyethylene Wax Emulsion

The method of phase conversion was used to emulsify the oxidized polyethylene wax to prepare oxidized polyethylene wax emulsion for leather finishing.And the main factors which can effect the properties of wax emulsion mainly were studied including sorts of emulsifiers,the amount of emulsifiers,the emulsifying temperature and sheared mixing speed.The experiments indicate that the steady and stable oxidized polyethylene wax emulsion can be prepared under following conditions: emulsifiers system OS-15+K-12,m(OS-15)∶m(K-12)=1∶3;and OS-15+1631,m(OS-15)∶m(1631)=1∶1.The total amount of these emulsion systems is 10% and 20% of wax mass,respectively,emulsion temperature is 90-95 ℃,and continuously stirring speed is 500~1000 r/min.And the leather finishing experiments show that finishing agents with polyethylene wax emulsion can build leather up stronger acerbity sense and genuine leather sense.It is excellent to soft leather finishing.
