摘要
A three-dimensional transition region exists between the bulk adhesive and the adherend, and this region is referred as the interphase. It is believed that the interphase is responsible for transferring the stress from one adherend to another in adhesive bonded joints and is frequently the site of environmental attack. Therefore the interphase plays an important role in the performance of the bonded joint, such as strength, toughness and environmental durability. With the knowledge of the properties, size and formation of the interphase, the whole performance of the joint could be tailored. This paper reviewed some theories for the interphase in bonded joints and some works related to the formation and extends of the interphase.
