Studies of some initiators in graft polymerization of acrylic acid onto konjac glucomannan

Graft polymerization of acrylic acid onto konjac glucomannan using ceric ammoniumnitrate,potassium persulfate and potassium persulfate-sodium bisulfate as initiators is studied.Reaction conditions of graft polymerization such as concentration of initiators,reaction temperature,concentration and degree of neutralization of monomer and reaction time are investigated.The results obtained from graft polymerization of acrylic acid onto konjac glucomannan initiated with ceric ammonium nitrate,and potassium persulfate,and potassium persulfate-sodium bisulfate are compared.The best result is using ammonium persulfate-sodium bisulfate.
