Preparation of EPDM/PP thermoplastic elastomer modified by nano-silica

Dynamic vulcanization method was used to make EPDM/PP blending thermoplastic elastomer(TPV) modified by nano-silica.The effect of adding means and the amount of nano-silica on the mechanical properties,Weka softening temperature and the thermoplasticity of TPV had been researched.The results showed that mixing of nano-silica with EPDM first could help to increase the mechanical properties of TPV and 4 phr was the optimal adding quantities of nano-silica.With the increase of the content of nano-silica,Weka softening temperature of TPV increased;when TPV was processed repeatly,mechanical properties decreased with a small degree,which showed that modified TPV had good thermoplasticity.
