摘要
Abstract Cobalt‐doped lanthanum chromite perovskite was employed as catalyst for the thermal decomposition of Hydroxyl ammonium nitrate (HAN), a green monopropellant emerging as a replacement over hydrazine. The perovskite with optimal composition of LaCr 0.8 Co 0.2 O 3 , synthesized using aloe vera gel as a capping agent significantly lowers the onset and peak decomposition temperature of HAN between 35 °C and 54 °C, respectively. The pressure rise in pulse mode batch reactor testing underscores its catalytic efficiency. LCCO‐AV yielded benign combustion products on HAN decomposition, highlighting its potential for monopropellant catalytic applications.
