was for the separation of Am and Cm. The elution behavior of small amounts of transuranium elements was also studied in the classical EDTA rare earth cation exchange system. Separation of the elements Am, Cm, Bk, and Cf was obtained, each being eluted at the overlap region of their respective rare earth homolog and the heavier adjacert rare earth. The techniques are also being considered for the separation of macro amounts of transuranium elemerts since neither requires high concentrations of acid or light elemert salts, and in the EDTA case dilution of the actinide elements on the column is attained by the presence of inactive rare earths.
