Objective To study the diagnosis and treatment of obstructive sleep apnea hypopnea syndrome(OSAHS) induced by tumors of the upper airway(UA). Methods Sixteen OSAHS cases induced by UA were reviewed. Results Twelve patients were misdiagnosed and mistreated. The misdiagnoses occurred mainly in the hypopharynx and nasopharynx. After operation, the OSAHS symptoms disappeared in 11 patients and relieved in the other five. Conclusion To avoid misdiagnosis and mistreatment for OSAHS patients, general examination should be carried out carefully and the UA be checked in particular.
