Advances in C/C-SiC Composites:Preparation by Reaction Bonding Technique and Applications

C/C-SiC composites have many advantages,such as low weight,high Young's modulus,high thermal conductivity,low coefficient of thermal expansion,high reliability,and good thermal stability,therefore they are excellent hot structure materials.Reaction bonding procedures,including coating protection of C fiber,optimization and design of porous C/C greenbody,and silicon infiltration process,are introduced.Foremost applications of C/C-SiC composites in aerospace,space optical system,and brake materials are also described.Moreover,developments on preparation technology and applications of C/C-SiC composites are forecast.
