Study of time frequency analysis methods for frequency estimation

Time and frequency are the most important variables in signal analysis and procession.Time-frequency analysis techniques seek to find the best balance between computational complexity and time-frequency resolution.It is important to use time-frequency analysis to study instantaneous frequency estimation and the performance of each method.This article elaborates the general situation of the theoretical research as well as the application development of instantaneous frequency and time-frequency analysis.Besides,it also gives several typical algorithms of instantaneous frequency estimate and their performance evaluation.
